Ryder Go gives your waiting trips to drivers. It tries thousands of ways to match drivers and trips, then shows you a plan. Nothing changes until you apply it.
Use it whenever you have more than a few trips to place. For a single trip, drag it to a driver on the Dispatch board instead.
Steps
In the menu on the left, select Dispatch. Use the arrows at the top to pick the day you want to plan.
In the Unassigned list on the right, tick the trips you want planned. To plan every trip in the list, tick none.
At the bottom of the list, select Ryder Go. The Who can take these trips? window opens.
Leave Whole fleet picked to use every driver with a shift that day. Or select Choose drivers and tick the ones to use. A driver who can’t take trips says why, like “Set a daily shift first”.
Select Run Ryder Go for the whole fleet, or Run Ryder Go with 3 drivers. You’ll see “Ryder Go is planning your day…”. It usually takes under a minute. To cancel, select Stop planning.
Ryder Go’s plan opens on the right. Its suggestions show in the drivers’ rows as blue blocks with a dotted outline. Point at one to see who it goes to.
Check the plan (see below), then select Apply 12 trips. The trips go to their drivers and show in their apps. To throw the plan away, select Discard.
Check the plan
The line under Ryder Go’s plan sums it up, like “12 trips get a driver · 2 trips need you”. Three tabs list the trips:
- New: trips that get a driver. Untick a trip to leave it out. It stays in Unassigned.
- Moved: trips that go to a different driver. You see these when you re-plan a whole day.
- Not placed: trips Ryder Go couldn’t fit, each with the reason, like “No driver working that day is approved for stretcher rides.”
If a Before you apply box shows at the top, read it first. It names drivers Ryder Go left out and why, like “Ryder Go left out Sam Patel, who has no shift that day.”
Trips Ryder Go couldn’t place
Fix what the reason says, like a missing shift or a wrong address, then run Ryder Go again. When a driver still has room, the trip says so, like “It fits on Tasha Greene’s schedule.” Select Add it to give it to her. Any trip left over stays in Unassigned, ready to drag to a driver.
Re-plan a whole day
When every trip already has a driver and nothing is ticked, Ryder Go opens Re-plan the day instead. It moves trips between your drivers for tighter routes. Check and apply that plan the same way.
Good to know
- You stay in charge. Ryder Go only runs when you select it, and only changes your board when you select Apply.
- Trips your team placed stay put. Ryder Go doesn’t move a trip someone gave a driver by hand, unless you turn on Let Ryder Go move them in its settings. A locked trip never moves.
- Will-calls join once the rider is ready. A will-call still waiting for the rider’s call isn’t planned.
- Pickup times stay as booked. Riders and drivers see the booked time. If you allow early or late pickups in Ryder Go’s settings, point at a trip to see the time Ryder Go planned.
- Who can use it: owners, admins and dispatchers.
If something looks wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Select at least one unassigned trip to optimize.” | Nothing is left to plan on this day. Check the day, and clear any search on the Unassigned list. |
| Most trips are Not placed | Check that your drivers’ shift hours cover the trips, and that drivers and vans have the skills and spaces riders need. |
| “…changed since this plan was made. Run Ryder Go again for a fresh plan.” | A trip changed after the plan was made. Select Run again. |
