Do I need a separate merchant account or card machine?
No. Card processing is built into HealthRide. You connect your bank account and payments settle to it, with no extra hardware and no separate system to reconcile.
Does HealthRide only handle credit cards?
No. Cards are one option. Checks, cash, facility invoices, and insurance payments are all recorded in the same ledger, so every dollar is tracked whatever route it took.
When do passengers get charged?
For card-on-file riders, after the trip completes and the final fare is confirmed, so the charge always matches the ride that happened. You can also collect up front with a payment link.
