Passengers are the people you transport. Each passenger gets a profile with contact details, mobility needs, and notes your drivers and dispatchers can see when booking trips.

<Steps>
<Step>
Open the **Passengers** page and click **Add passenger**. The "Add New Passenger" window opens.
</Step>
<Step>
Fill in **Contact Information**. Only **First Name** is required. You can also add a last name, email, phone, and date of birth. Leave **Status** set to Active for anyone you currently transport.
</Step>
<Step>
Optionally add a profile photo, and choose whether to turn on **SMS trip reminders**. If you turn reminders on, you must add a phone number and check the box confirming the passenger gave consent to receive texts.
</Step>
<Step>
Under **Facility Billing (Optional)**, pick a facility if a nursing home or clinic pays for this passenger's trips. The form tells you what your choice means: with a facility, "Trips will be added to monthly facility invoices"; without one, "Passenger pays directly per trip."
</Step>
<Step>
Add a **Default home address** under **Home Address**. This gives you a one-click pickup or dropoff option every time you book a trip for this passenger.
</Step>
<Step>
Fill in the **Transport Profile**: sex, weight, and the **Bariatric transport** switch if the passenger needs bariatric equipment.
</Step>
<Step>
Use **Mobility & Notes** for anything drivers need to know. **Mobility Notes** covers wheelchair, walker, oxygen, and similar needs. **Driver Notes** are visible to drivers, so put pickup and access instructions there. **Dispatcher Notes** stay internal and are never shown to drivers.
</Step>
<Step>
Add an **Emergency Contact** name and phone, then click **Add Passenger**. A "Passenger Added" confirmation appears; click **Done**.
</Step>
</Steps>

<Callout type="info" title="Saving a payment card">
If this passenger pays out of pocket, turn on **Set up saved payment after creating** in the Payment Methods section. You must enter an email first. The button changes to **Add Passenger & Set Up Payment**, and a secure card setup page opens after the passenger is created. If card setup is cancelled, the passenger is still saved.
